Primer Encuentro Empresarial España-Argentina

The Spanish Trade State Secretariat, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations organized, through the Spanish Economic and Trade Office in Buenos Aires, with the collaboration of the Government of the Republic of Argentina and the Argentine Agency for International Trade and Investment, the first Spain-Argentina Brokerage event. It was held from April 9th to 11th in Buenos Aires.

The President of the Republic of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri, together with the President of the Government of Spain, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, were in charge of opening the event which brought together nearly 80 Spanish companies and an important group of subsidiaries established in the country with more than 200 companies and local entities.

Following the opening, general information sessions were held on the main opportunities for business collaboration, project financing possibilities and, more specifically, opportunities in the water, energy and transport sectors, with the participation of local public authorities and managers. After years of slowdown and constraints, the Argentine government is once again committed to economic openness and prudent macroeconomic management that will help integrate Argentina back into the international arena.

Once the general sessions were completed, around 250 bilateral meetings pre-scheduled between stakeholders from both countries, were also held.

The common effort from the companies and organizations and the good management of the organization let to a very positive experience, which not only provides new opportunities for collaboration and investment to companies of Spanish origin such as SICE, but also positions and maintains them as a world reference concerning solutions for Environment, Transport, ITS and infrastructures.
