ITS and Free Flow Tolling Systems in the Houston SH288 Highway, Texas

The remodelling works in the SH288 interstate highway consists of providing expressway lanes (2 per direction) as well as improving the intersection bridges with the two main ring road highways to Houston (I-610 and Beltway 8) in Harris County.

The main objective of the project is to ensure that there were always be fluid traffic in express lanes (minimum speed of 50 mph) by using toll dynamic billing algorithms, depending on the traffic in that stretch.

Within this project BTC subcontracts to SICE as responsible for the integration of the tolling and ITS systems (installation, customization, etc.) with the control center.

The information will be sent to a new control center built by the contractor.
