WestConnex M4-M5 Link Rozelle Interchange (Stage 3B)

WestConnex Stage 3B

WestConnex is Australia’s largest infrastructure project, linking Sydney’s west and southwest with the city, airport and port in a 33 km continuous motorway.

The Rozelle Interchange Works (Stage 3B) which will join and integrate with the Main Tunnel to form part of the WestConnex Motorway. This stage will consist of an interchange at Rozelle including the Iron Cove Link (the Rozelle Interchange) to connect the Main Tunnel with the Inner West, the Anzac Bridge, Victoria Road, City West Link and a future Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT).

Furthermore, WestConnex M4 (Stage 1) has been successfully implemented by SICE Pty Ltd, and the company is in charge of the WestConnex M5 (Stage 2) and WestConnex M4-M5 Link (Stage 3A).

Some of the key benefits of the WestConnex M4-M5 Link Rozelle Interchange will result in:

  • Reduce capacity constraints and congestions;
  • Meet or exceed the capacity, connectivity, network performance and safety of travel by delivering a clear road hierarchy separating local and through traffic;
  • Deliver a solution that maximises urban renewal opportunities at surface sites, to provide tangible benefits to community;
  • Ensure in-tunnel urban design enhances safety of travel and is consistent with WestConnex being Australia's most extensive underground network of urban road tunnels; and
  • Minimize community impacts, during and after construction, to Sydney as a region and local businesses and residents.
