The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) awards SICE works of installation of an automatic hazard warning system
The DGT has chosen SICE to perform the works of installation of an automatic hazard warning system in four different national road intersections in the north of the peninsula.
The contract works involves the installation of sensors to detect vehicles and dynamic warning signs in four locations:
- Motorway N-113 K.P. 78 - Navarra
- Motorway N-634 K.P. 666 - Coruna
- Highway N-VI K.P. 399 - Leon
- Highway N-VI K.P. 56 - Madrid
Moreover, it will also be necessary to install another set of equipment to implement the logic of operation and ensure sustainability of the solution (autonomous solar power supply and wireless communications between devices, in communication with the corresponding Traffic Control Center).
The principle of operation of the entire system follows the following logic:
- The main route is equipped with vertically variable signaling, in both directions of traffic.
- Furthermore, vehicle pass detection sensors are installed both pathways from which the addition occurs as the main lanes of incorporation and detection thereof.
- The detection of vehicles in the surrounding area of the intersection allows alert vehicles on the main route by activating dynamic signaling.
