Metropolitan Lima traffic control system
Lima's metropolitan government's traffic control system is the result of the local government's efforts during the course of the following different projects:
- Improvements to traffic signals on Av. Tacna – Garcilaso de la Vega.
- Improvements to traffic signals on Av. Arenales.
- Traffic signal installation on Av. Petit Thouars
- Traffic signal installation on Av. Arequipa.
- Improvements to traffic signal network A.
- Improvements to traffic signal network B.
- Improvements to traffic signals on roads in different districts adjacent to COSAC.
- Improvements to traffic signal network D.
All implemented projects include:
- 267 SICE MFU model traffic controllers.
- 590 artificial vision cameras for counting and classification.
- ADIMOT traffic control software.
- Optical fibre communications network
- Complete traffic engineering.
- A range of models of support components, posts, pillars, ornamental features, etc.
Work was also done on the pedestrian access network in areas around Line 1 stations and Nestor Gambetta, through the installation of 34 traffic controllers and 45 additional cameras.
This is all centralised and operated from a single control centre.
