SICE has been selected by Siemens to carry out the design, supply, installation supervision and maintenance of the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) System for the Green Line of the new High Speed Train network in Egypt that the German company Siemens (together with its consortium partners) is building and equipping throughout Egypt.

This project has an ambitious goal: to provide Egypt and its population with its first high-speed rail transport system, and to connect the Red Sea (Ain-Sokhna) with the Mediterranean Sea (Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh). In addition, a freight rail corridor will be created, colloquially known as the "Suez Land Canal". The Egyptian population will thus be able to benefit from a modern rail link that will reduce current travel times by up to 90%.

It is envisaged that in some sections, the train will operate as a "commuter train", facilitating daily mobility between Cairo's three main cities (Cairo/New Cairo/New Capital).
The project is considered the most ambitious in the world for the creation of a high-speed network (with the exception of China). It will be equipped with an AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) system, developed by SICE, with the capacity to manage different users, fares and types of journeys, as well as to reserve the seats assigned to them. SICE has been selected thanks to the great flexibility it offers in the development of the AFC Software, facilitating integrations with the different existing systems.
